Description
FIVE TOMATOES. A BROADER HARVEST.
Build a tomato patch with more than one kind of harvest.
This collection brings together two small fresh-eating tomatoes, two distinctive slicers, and a compact tomato for cooking and drying. Black Cherry and Yellow Pear offer dusky round and yellow pear-shaped fruit; Black Krim brings dark slices, Pineapple adds large golden-and-red slices, and Principe Borghese provides small meaty fruit for kitchen batches.
Choose it for: a tomato garden with more variety in size, habit, and kitchen use.
WHAT’S INSIDE
A tomato for snacking, slicing, and preserving.
Black Cherry
Small, dusky cherry tomatoes on vigorous indeterminate vines. Give them sturdy support and expect repeated picking rather than one concentrated harvest.
Black Krim
Large, dark, ribbed slicing tomatoes with a full-size indeterminate plant habit. This is the collection’s dark slicer for sandwiches, plates, and summer tomato bowls.
Principe Borghese
A compact determinate heirloom producing small paste-style tomatoes. Useful when you want sauce, roasting, or drying fruit without adding another long indeterminate vine.
Yellow Pear
Small yellow, pear-shaped tomatoes for salads and repeated fresh picking. The fruit is small, but the indeterminate vine needs a sturdy cage or trellis. Use the Yellow Pear growing guide for ripeness and support.
Pineapple
A large bicolor heirloom for golden-yellow and red slices. The indeterminate vine needs strong support for heavy fruit and enough warm growing time for the 85–90-day first-ripe estimate after transplanting. Use the Pineapple growing guide for support and harvest cues.
FIVE VARIETIES, SEVERAL HARVEST USES
Give each tomato the space its habit calls for.
These varieties do not all grow the same way. Black Cherry, Black Krim, Yellow Pear, and Pineapple are indeterminate and need dependable support. Principe Borghese is determinate and more compact, but a cage or stake can still help under a heavy fruit load. Start and transplant each according to the instructions on its own packet and variety page.
For example, grow one supported Black Cherry vine, one supported Black Krim vine, one supported Yellow Pear vine, one supported Pineapple vine, and one caged Principe Borghese plant if your space permits. This is a sample layout for selected plants, not instructions to sow all 150 seeds.
A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING
Before you add the collection.
Can I swap one tomato for another variety?
Not in this fixed collection. It includes Black Cherry, Black Krim, Principe Borghese, Yellow Pear, and Pineapple as listed. The individual products are available separately if you want to build a different mix.
Are these the same packets sold individually?
Yes. The collection uses the same full-size variety packets, not reduced-count bundle packets.
Do I need to plant all five at the same time?
No. Use the packet and variety guidance for each tomato, and only start the number of plants that fits your garden. The unused seed can remain stored for later sowings.
Where can I find the detailed growing instructions?
Each linked variety page has the full Hollowstead planting and growing notes. The individual packet remains the final reference for lot-specific labeling and instructions.
